A2 Cow’s Milk: A1 and A2 are types of beta-casein proteins that represent roughly 30% of the protein makeup of milk. A1-type milk is the result of a gene mutation, but historically, all cows used to produce only A2 milk. Holle formula A2 is purely made of 100% A2 milk. 

Lactose:This carbohydrate is naturally found in milk. It serves as an important energy source for growing babies and also aids calcium absorption. Holle A2 Stage 1 features lactose as the sole carb source. 

Plant-Based DHA and ARA: Rather than relying on fish oil, Holle uses plant-based DHA, sourced from microalgae, and ARA, sourced from M. alpina oil. Algae-derived DHA has no fishy smell and doesn’t contribute to overfishing. 

Reduced Digestive Discomfort - A1 milk can cause digestive discomfort in some individuals since, during digestion, it produces a peptide (smaller protein molecules) that is associated with negative health outcomes. Thankfully, A2 milk does not produce this peptide, offering a safer and easier-to-digest alternative.
